A St. Louis County jury in December swiftly rejected a city resident's premises liability suit filed after she slipped and fell outside an Ashley Home Store in Florissant nearly seven years ago. Shirley Mae Sutton sued the store's corporate owner, DSG Missouri LLC, after tripping outside the furniture store on Feb. 13, 2016. She alleged that excessive amounts of rock salt on the steps of the store's entrance created a hazard. Sutton, who was 64 at the time, suffered injuries to her face, neck, back, arms and legs, the suit alleged.
