FLORISSANT — The Florissant City Council on Monday unanimously agreed to swap parkland with a major housing developer over opposition from residents who packed the meeting to urge city leaders not to give up the public land. The council voted 9-0 to approve the deal, which would see the city give 32 acres of undeveloped field and trees in Koch Park to McBride Homes to build 108 new houses there. In return, McBride Homes will give the city 44 acres of forest and bluffs along the Missouri River, south of Florissant's Sunset Park, for hiking and parks use.
